When to shoot nature…?

Canuga Falls, Ricketts Glen

When the sky is overcast get out there and shoot nature. Overcast sky conditions occur when clouds cause low visibility conditions. Or shoot when the sun is low in the early morning or late afternoon. The problem with nature photography is the capture unwanted reflections from the water surface.
When a sunlight hits that water the resulting photo will just plain bad, no photoshop skill can fix it.
Don’t go out 12 noon and sunny and shoot waterfalls, that is just wrong and amateurish. Get it right in the camera.

Outdoor photography in general really is all about the WHEN to shoot.

Shoot with care!

Technical photo stuff: Shot in Ricketts Glen State Park with DSLR camera, 24mm, f/16, ISO 100, 6 seconds, circular polarizer
